Small Victories & How To Win Everyday

January 21, 2019 in Health & Fitness

Hey Y’all!

I want to talk about something that can make a huge impact on your life. If you are anything like me you have a to do list a mile long everyday. It can stress me out and make me really sad if I don’t get everything done. Some days, like days where I am already feeling down, this can be even worse because I don’t have the motivation to do anything. That’s where finding small victories comes into play. I try to find small victories/wins everyday to keep me in a more positive mindset.

Here are some small victories I like to be proud of on days when I am not feeling the best.

  1. Getting out of bed. This is huge. Somedays it’s so hard to get out of bed for me and people who struggle with depression. On these days I give myself a pat on the back if I make it out of bed. Even if I do nothing else productive I did that.
  2. Getting dressed and putting on real clothes. I work from home and go to school from home so there is no need for me to get out of my pajamas if I don’t have anywhere to go. That being said, not changing my clothes can not only affect my mood but also my productivity. Putting on real clothes helps me to get in the mindset of work and school. I make it a point to put on something other than my pajamas everyday so I can say “hey I put on real clothes today, that’s a success.”
  3. Taking a shower. I hate showers. I think they are a waste of time. If I could never shower again that would be great. But alas that’s not the case. So I count it as a victory when I shower.
  4. Drinking water and taking my supplements. Water is so important to your wellness. I’m going to do a whole post on the importance of water sometime soon but it can make a huge impact on your health and wellness. I take vitamins and supplements to help me feel and perform better. These are things that I am passionate and care about so on days when I don’t feel like doing anything I make it a point to drink eight glasses of water and take my supplements so I can feel like I accomplished something.

These are just four of the many small victories I try to recognize myself for on days when I am not feeling the best. Be kind to yourself and find ways to be victorious. What are some small victories you can give yourself credit for?

    • There are some new faces around here so let me introduce myself. I'm Christin! I'm engaged to the love of my life and we are getting married on August 17th. I'm a dog mom to a wonderful poodle. I am a graduate student getting my degree in strategic communication. Most importantly I am in the process of getting my ICF certification to be a coach. I want to help females entering college or entering the workforce figure out what they want to do with their lives. I'm living my dream and can't wait to take y'all along for the ride!
    • Spring has finally come as has the rain. Gloomy days like today make me so excited for summer days sitting at a brewery sipping on a summery drink and enjoying the sunshine. Anything that gets me outside and spending time with my friends is really the joy of spring and summer for me. .

What's your favorite thing to do on a nice day filled with sunshine?
    • These two are my rocks. Yesterday was a horrible day. I woke up in more pain then I have been in recently. My sciatica was acting up. I was in so much pain that I started throwing up. I had to go to the doctor which I hate. I got food poisoning from dinner out. The list goes on.

But these two held my hair back as I got sick. Laid in bed with me. Comforted me. Told me everything was going to be okay. Supported me in ways they don't even realize. .

I am so unbelievably grateful to them and love them so much! I'm a lucky girl.
    • Got to spend my day with this cutie while her mom, my best friend, got some school work done. I love days when I get to hang out and help others so they can reach their highest potential. We rise by lifting others. Love you @threaden!
    • Waking up every morning knowing I have food to eat and coffee to drink is always something I am grateful for. Not everyone has the luxury of this and so I never want to take it for granted. Feeling super grateful today that I get to eat avocado toast for breakfast whenever I want. .

What is something you are grateful for today?!
    • My plant obsession has hit a high. I am now talking pictures of plants I'm in love with while I'm out with the fiancé hahaha. I love plants but I love him more.
